Garage opener options

Curently have my garage wired up to my dahua door bell with a NO contact pad also wired up to the door bell.
I am having issues with delays either through home assist or dahua (dmss app) to send the open signal. (Can be 30 seconds to send sometimes)

What would be the best option to wire it up

  1. esp32 with ssr for the contact with NO magnetic sensor
  2. Use a spare shelly 1 to controll garage open and leave the NO magnet on dahua
  3. Use the dahua doorbell and figure out the cause of the delay in signal.

Happy to hear other options also.

I use an ESP module (Sonoff SV) to control my garage doors.
Added a reed switch to check position.
Does Dahua use a cloud service? Would explain the delay.

Have you tried direct trigger? Is that what Homeassistant is using?

The delay may be caused traversal through remote server. I trigger dahua camera directly and receive no delay.

I have two dahua video intercoms connected and i have no delays, too. I use this custom integration: : rroller/dahua: Dahua Camera and Doorbell Home Assistant Integration - see if it supports your model (or try…). It works locally, not via dahua’s cloud.Are you opening garage with dahua’s app? If so, that goes via cloud and would explain delay. Open garage with HA.

Yes using that intergration and seems that one has an even longer delay.
Dmss is through p2p so their cloud, although not sure if it runs locally when im on wifi

Hm… .when i added my doorbells with this integration i entered their’s local IP, so in my case it’s definitely local.
