Gas consumption tracking gone haywire on just one day

Hey there, so I’ve had an energy page set up on my home assistant for a few months now, to monitor my power usage, my power generation through my solar panels, and gas consumption. Everything was set up crazily easy and it has worked accurately so far.

Except for one day.

On average, during the summer period, we use around 0,2 to 0,3 m³ of gas per day. On June 14th, however, this energy page says we used a whopping 4452,14 m³.

You can imagine the heart attack that this pulled out of me before I came to my senses.

So I checked my actual meter in the basement, and my actual current meter of all gas ever used in this house is around the same as this supposed one-day consumption.

More so, my current month’s gas usage according to this page is now on 4460,50 m³, while the entity that’s doing the reporting actually matches up to what’s on my physical meter, which is all gas ever consumed here, and is actually lower at 4454,92 m³

I’m assuming it glitched on that day and just stuck my lifetime total gas usage on the report instead of the daily gas usage, but I can’t seem to see why it did this, or how to get rid of it.

I checked the entity that this report is linked to, and I can not find anything in there that would explain this surge. Every other day is being tracked accurately, but this one day just baffles me. Every other day since the 14th has been tracked accurately.

Any idea what could have caused this?

Get the entity history from the history panel for that day (if you still have it), and download the CSV.

Likely you have a glitch to 0 in there, which cause this.

Can be fixed via developer-tools/statistics Adjust Sum dialog.

That’s the thing, though. I did exactly that, and there’s nothing abnormal in the CSV. That’s what’s baffling me.

I did see the spike in the “Adjust Sum” dialog you mentioned (first I’ve ever heard of that, but I’m new, so yeah), and I could adjust it there. So I still don’t know what caused it, but at least it’s fixed now.

Thanks for the help!
