I just installed two GE Enbrighten ZW4009 (Jasco) with their addon switch in a 3 way config. I don’t think that is really relevant though. They work fine as switches.
However, I can’t get them to join with S2+. I tell them to and then when it is included, it says it failed for some reason and just decides to add them as Z-Wave 1 with no security. Right on the box it says it has S2 and Z-Wave Plus.
First question. Do you NEED S2 on the switch because you’re trying to create an association with another S2 device or are you just trying to make all the dots green?
I believe the current default in JsUI is to not install with security unless it’s an access control device (if freshcoast responds and corrects me they’re right)
I don’t install switching as secure for ZWave performance reasons unless I have a specific need.
I would argue that security is a ‘need’ on every device. It has the feature, why isn’t it working is also on my list here.
During inclusion, I was able to select for S2 and add the DSK number. I get a nondescript error message after a 30 secs to a min and then it just proceeds to add it without security. I am trying to figure out why. I haven’t had this issue with any of my Zooz Z-Wave devices. I went back to a GE switch because it had a lighted toggle feature I wanted for these particular switches and now I am having this issue.
Firmware is up-to-date with 5.54.
