I hope someone can help on this tricky one?
So, I’m posting here as I can’t think of a better way to explain this issue without being sent to the usual app permissions configuration, which I know must be working based on the following.
Basically, I have location permissions enabled on the android device, which I can watch update in the mobile app devices.
However, when I use this geolocation entity to track the person, it fails to do so, even though the geolocation on the device is definitely updating on the mobile app.
I’ve got it working on another mobile app for a different person, all the setting look identical, so I’m lost for ideas…
I’m hoping it’s something obvious, but I can’t see it:
Thanks in advance!
Steve
Edit = I made a collage as I can’t upload multiple images just yet.
Can you clarify what you mean by this? Only entities in the device_tracker domain can be attached to a person entity, not sensor entities.
Hi Didgeridrew,
Apologies for the confusion, I may well be using poor terminology.
I will use highlighted images instead to point out my issue, please see attached.
Kind regards
Steve Lane
Have you figured this out? I’m having the same issue.
Hi Roger,
I have indeed figured it out after stumbling past some extra sensor settings in the companion app here.
On the companion phone app, go to “Settings”, “Companion app” and scroll down to where is says “Sensors” and “manage sensors”.
There will be a huge list of possible sensors to manage, off you scroll down to “Location sensors”, there will be “Background location” to enable, “High accuracy”, “Update interval”, “location zone” and “Single accurate location” which I have enabled all out of interest at this point, but in doing so, solves the original problem.
So glad I came across these extra sensors, there are so many, I will have to think of more automations to use them for!
Kind regards
Steve
