Getting ZHA custom quirks to work with Tuya TS0601 in-ceiling motion sensor

Not sure why the ZHA/HA support to this device is so poor. It seems some people have it working but collectively unable to get it pushed in to production release.

Still have to use the custom quick and not implemented into official release in 07/11/2023. Sad.

@anon12659957 - which quirk are you using ?

Over on this thread:

We’ve finally got a working one for the _TZE204_sxm7l9xa variant, which seems to be different from the others available.

Ah ok… Thats not the _TZE204_sxm7l9xa variant.

Is there anywhere I can read on the control settings?controls
I’m trying to adjust for the best detection

I submitted a PR that gets both _TZE204_ztc6ggyl and _TZE204_sxm7l9xa working (including configuration), but I don’t know what it’ll take to get it merged. :man_shrugging:

For the record, there’s another variant (_TZE204_qasjif9e), but that’s covered on a different PR.

And finally, for completeness, there’s some valuable info in this comment in yet another PR on what it would take to get the target distance sensor entity working, but those bits are in no PRs I could find.

I have the wall-mounted zigbee version of the sensor. I used zha quirk to make the device working but have the following issue: changing configuration parameters (fading time, max range, sensitivity) works for a while when changing the values either via a lovelace card or Integrations/Zigbee/Manage zigbee device but the values reset back to defaults after a while. Corresponding cluster / present_value -attribute.
Any thoughts anyone?

Did anyone managed to get this working right recently?
I unfortunately bought TS0601 by _TZE204_ya4ft0w4 and it doesn’t show nay sensors with ZHA.

That was just added to ZHA, will be available whenever the next HA patch is released.
