Not sure where to put this. I’m new here, and new to HA, but inspired by what’s possible when products are developed openly.
I am a mechanical engineer with a background in plastic injection mold design, product development, and rapid prototyping. I’m inclined to give back to the project if there is somewhere my skill set could be utilized.
Perhaps an admin could relocate this post where it is most appropriate and maybe give me some advice on how to get involved.
Maybe make some posts in the ESPHome sub forum? Seems the most likely place where mechanical enclosures might be useful. Lots of new device creations going on there.
If you’re not aware ESPHome is an ESP32 based software suite that supports lots of different hardware modules for input/output/sensors and displays. Sort of a electronics Lego kit that is fully integrated into Home Assistant, but devices built with it can also function on its own as a stand alone device.
