Gluetun — VPN container for Home Assistant OS

This app runs Gluetun directly inside your Home Assistant OS supervisor, letting you route other apps or containers through a VPN tunnel without needing a separate Docker host. This is aimed at routing *arr searches through a VPN by connecting Prowlarr to Gluetun with a tag, and then using that tag in any indexer setup to route the search through the VPN.

Features:

  • Built on the official Gluetun image, packaged as an HA app
  • VPN support via OpenVPN
  • Configured through the standard HA app options — no manual docker run flags needed

Installation:

  1. Add https://github.com/Xornop/ha-apps as a repository under Settings → Apps → Install app → ⋮ → Repositories
or just use this Open your Home Assistant instance and show the add app repository dialog with a specific repository URL pre-filled.
  2. Search for “Gluetun” and install
  3. Enter your VPN username/password in the app options
  4. Start the app and check the logs for a successful tunnel connection
