Google Assistant does not work only for scenes

Hi,

I have fairly extensive knowledge using HA. I’ve been using it for several years and you used to be able to just say “Hey Google, Activate ” and it would set the scene in HA. It works fine for everything else, like turning on lights, fans, conrtrolling shades, etc., but when it comes to scenes now, I get the error (on Google Home devices, “Sorry, it looks like the Home Assistant cloud by Nabu Casa is unavailable right now.”) - so I know that Google can access Nabu Casa just fine.

I have three scenes currently for our house - daytime, evening, and bedtime. I have all three scenes configured correctly and they work great in Home Assistant alone. They are all three exposed to Google.

What’s really weird is that the “Evening” scene works fine activating from Google Home. I can say “Hey Google, Activate Evening” and it will switch the scene in HA. But my nearly identical scenes (same devices - just different brightness/shades values”) cause this error. The Evening scene is the oldest, and I just added the scenes Daytime and Bedtime recently (maybe a month or so ago), but they cannot be activated by saying “Hey Google, Activate Daytime” (for example) does not work, even though the Daytime scene in HA works perfectly through my dashboard, and it is exposed to Google inside HA.

Everything else that is exposed to Google from HA works fine as individual devices or lighting groups that are exposed (i.e. “Hey Google, turn on the floor lamp” works fine. It’s just when I try activating these two scenes that cause Google to say that it can’t reach Home Assstant cloud by Nabu Casa.

Google obviously sees them, or it wound’t react this way. It just refuses to activate them. Any ideas?

Thanks,

-Scott
