So I have had the Google Assistant integration working for some days, easily managing to set it up through the UI in HA and in Google Home. So far so good. I painstakingly started assigning rooms to devices one by one.
For some reason I had 800+ entities exposed, and since Google Home is such a pain when it comes to assigning devices to rooms (no bulk feature), I decided to dramatically reduce the number of devices exposed to Google Assistant, getting it down to around 2-300 (by ‘unexposing’ them in the HA UI). And this is when the trouble began.
After reducing I tried “Scan for new devices” in Google Home, but got a “Something went wrong, Try again” error. I was then dumb enough to delete the nabu casa integration in Google Home, and try over again. And this is where I have been stuck ever since, because it keeps on giving me the same error.
I have now reduced my number of exposed entities to only 2 lights (!!), I have restarted HA numerous times (including with Google Assistant enabled and disabled). I have even created a new Google Home account, with a new home on a new iOS device, and even that clean new install won’t connect to my HA anymore.
So I am stuck. I think the problem is with my HA setup (due to my test with a clean Google Home install), but I don’t know what I can do to further “start from scratch” with the integration, short of a brand new HA install, which is not happening.
Does anyone have any good suggestions?
