Google Cast

Hi, Just set up a fresh copy of HA, it discovered that i have Google nest Hubs and asked me to configure them. I clicked on configure and it said it was sup and then it discovered my 5 hubs fine. But now its showing as there unavailable, any ideas why?

I used to have an issue where it would constantly recreate the devices as like _2, _3, _4 and the original one would just be unavailable.
I think that has mostly stopped, I still see an _2 entity now that I say this, but it’s the dead one.

Go to the integration, and click entities.
See if you have a bunch of _2, etc. ones.

just checked, only has 1 entitie listed per device and all ofline

I know one thing that people keep saying is make sure all the Google devices are on the same 2.4Ghz network. I don’t have any 5GHz devices so I never really had an issue. Do you have any vlans or any weird network configurations?

I do have vlans, i have one specific for IoT devices, i have all the google devices on that vlan, plus the HA server is sitting in the same vlan too, do the googl devices support 5gHz as they maybe connecting to that as devices can auto select 2.4 or 5 i may switch of 5 for the IoT vlan, i have a wirelss controller and 5 access points arround the house

Interesting.
If you have vlans maybe you’ve enabled firewalls at the switch.
Maybe you’re blocking some port required?

Nope no firewalls at the switch, plus there all on the same vlan anyway

Yea from what I’ve heard if you’re on the same vlan it should work.
I guess open two home assistant windows, with one remove the integration and add it while watching the core logs in the other.

yep i will give that a go when i get a min thanks

this is the error i am getting

After you reboot everything, nest hub and home assistant and the issue still persists you could post an issue here:
