Google Drive / Sheets integration. Can't publish app

I’m trying to follow the instructions here: https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/google_sheets/

to link my Google Drive / Sheets to home assistant. Using “Scenario 2 generate client id” When I try to publish the app (out of testing) the Publish button is disabled with a tooltip that says my app must be verified. The instructions say publishing an unverified app should be possible. According to docs without a published app my oauth creds will keep expiring within a week.

Anyone run into this? Is this a recent restriction the latest comments on this are from Feb 2025 I haven’t found anyone else with this issue.

Google has been weird lately as they state they are about to switch stuff to Gemini, whatever that means.
Lots of reports of things not working the same.
Not certain if this was also affected.

Did you ever solve this? I ran into the same issue for a number of google services.

It seems the best route is to just provide the extra information necessary for publishing?
