Google Generative AI responds very late. Sometimes it takes up to 1 hour. I wonder why this delay occurs?
An hour… that is slow.
Can you give more details about how your system is set up and what hardware you’re using?
My system is installed on Pi4, but today I did a clean install on Pi5 and first installed the Google Generative AI plugin, and the same problem continues on the clean install and Pi5.
And a bit more…?
I performed a fresh installation on the Pi5 hardware using an M.2 SSD. During the initial setup, I configured the settings required by Home Assistant and only added the Google Generative AI add-on by creating an API key. Then, I sent a query using Google Generative AI: Generate Content from the Actions section. In this query, I simply wrote “hi,” and the response took about 10-15 minutes to arrive.
Before making the query, I enabled debug logging, and the only log that appeared was the one below. Since this was a test setup, I had previously powered off the device by cutting the electricity. The log only contains this output, and I couldn’t find any log related to the delay.
What should I do? Is there anything specific you want me to do or any information you need?

By the way, my internet speed is 1 gbps for download and upload.
I’ve identified the root cause of the issue. I downgraded the Home Assistant Core version to an older version, 2025.2.5, and it started responding very quickly again, just like before. With version 2025.3, there was a change in the Google Generative AI integration, as shown below, and with 2025.3 and later versions, the response time started to increase. Where should I report this?
