Isn’t the Maps Static API used for the Google Maps Card? I vaguely remember enabling this service when setting up my Google Maps Card.

My suggestion would be to re-factor to use OSM:

I use LeafletJS for my own maps which is exactly what HASS uses for the Zones control panel.
