I’ve been running my OTBR network combined with my “NEST-PAN-XXXX” (from my google nest). It has been working fine for a while, and after leaving my Google Nest off for some time, it now uses a different Thread network: “Google-XXXX”
What bothers me is that I can’t extract the credentials/tvl (Companion writes "You don’t have any credentials to import) using the companion, and so I can’t make it the preferred network on HA neither (to also make my OTBR join that network.
Did that happen to some of you too ? Did you find a solution to retrieve the credentials ?
What do you have set for your Credentials? Usually one device, either a Nest or Home Assistant Open Thread Border Router, can be set to handle credentials.
I usually leave Home Assistant Open Thread Border Router to handle the Thread credentials, and just let the Nest devices be additional border routers. It seems to name the network to whatever Google wants to call it on the day, but credentials always work via OTBR. This seems to work for me. Occasionally, if there are network glitches, some Thread devices will go offline, needing the NEST devices to be rebooted to get it working again. Guessing this is because Google use an older version of Thread, but 90% of the time, it works every time.
