Govee light segments inflating "Lights On" count in default dashboard

Hi everyone,

I’m running into a “noise” issue with my Govee lights and the new default Home Assistant dashboard.

I have a Govee light in the living room that exposes 16 individual light segments as separate entities. The problem is that the default “Overview” dashboard counts every single one of these segments as a separate light.

Right now, my dashboard summary says I have 45 lights on, which is definitely not true! (It’s mostly just that one Govee strip racking up the count because all 16 segments are “on”).

I’d like to still be able to control those segments individually if I ever want to, but I don’t want them messing up my house-wide “Lights On” summary.

What is the “best practice” way to handle this?

  • Should I just “Hide” the segment entities?
  • Is there a specific way to label or group them so they are excluded from the default dashboard count but remain accessible?

Any advice on how to clean this up would be appreciated.

Thanks, Pat

Just hide them… more info > visible off

Thanks! Disabled all of the visible entities that shouldn’t be… though there are lot and that was tedious. Appreciate ya!
