Hello HA fellows and friends,
https://github.com/alfredo87/Aerona-webapp
A phone-friendly dashboard and control surface for a Grant Aerona / ecoNET controller. It runs in Docker on a local machine and talks only to Home Assistant; the browser never contacts the ecoNET hub directly.
This is my first attempt to become independent from the horrible app for mobile phones by ecoNET ver.3.0.023 which shows useless numbers and works via a very unreliable cloud server which is constantly throwing up error messages when data are send to the device.Grant is not responsible for the app and has told me they will not update or improvethe app.
My hardware is as follow:
- HA running on a BRIX 5010 as homeassistantOS
- A Yunohost server running permanently which has the web-app in a docker container and has docker and Docker Compose installed at Debian level (not as an Yunohost application!)
- The programming and access to both the above machines is from a Manjaro Linux PC via ssh
- The web-app is reachable from the internet via a browser connected to the Yunohost server
- I run the app on my iPhone from a linked bookmark on my home screen
The whole setup looks like this:
Internet / phone browser
│ HTTPS
▼
YunoHost server — aerona.yourdomain.tld
Aerona web app (Docker)
│ LAN HTTP API
▼
BRIXi3 — Home Assistant OS
192.168.x.x
│ LAN MQTT + REST
▼
Grant Aerona ecoNET Wi‑Fi Hub
192.168.x.y
│
▼
ecoNET 300 controller → heat pump, DHW cylinder, Circuit 2 radiators,
room thermostat, outdoor sensor
The Aerona app never connects directly to ecoNET from the browser; YunoHost talks to Home Assistant, and Home Assistant communicates with the controller on your LAN.
