Growatt THOR EV Charger - Cloud integration

Hi everyone,

I’ve been working on a custom Home Assistant integration for Growatt THOR EV chargers.

The official Growatt integration currently focuses on inverters, so I built this integration around Growatt’s cloud service to bring THOR charger control and monitoring into Home Assistant.

It connects using your existing Growatt account, so no changes to the charger or your local network are required.

What it supports

Live data

  • Charging status
  • Power, current and voltage
  • Session eergy and duration
  • Session cost and tariff
  • Cable lock status

Charging modes

  • Fast
  • PV Linkage
  • Off-peak

You can switch between charging modes directly from Home Assistant.

PV Linkage

  • Configure how much grid power can be used alongside solar surplus
  • Set grid power to 0 W for solar-surplus-only charging
  • Boost with a manual charging window
  • Smart Boost: request a certain amount of energy by a specified departure time

Scheduled Fast charging

  • Stop based on cost, energy or duration
  • Start immediately or at a specific time
  • Repeat the schedule every day
  • Cancel a scheduled start

Off-peak charging

  • Configure up to three time slots

Charger settings

  • Maximum charging current
  • Authorization mode: APP/RFID, RFID or Plug & Charge
  • Load balancing
  • LCD display
  • Warm-up

The integration also exposes Home Assistant actions for automations:

start_charging
cancel_reservation
set_boost

A few technical details

The integration polls the Growatt cloud every 60 seconds by default (configurable).

It backs off when the API returns errors and keeps the last known values during short cloud outages, with the goal of keeping the number of requests to Growatt’s servers reasonably low.

Only a hash of the Growatt password is stored.

The configuration UI is available in English and Italian.

Installation

The integration can be installed through HACS:

  1. Open HACS → ⋮ → Custom repositories
  2. Add:

  3. Select Integration
  4. Install Growatt THOR EV Charger (Cloud)
  5. Restart Home Assistant
  6. Go to Settings → Devices & services → Add integration
  7. Search for Growatt THOR EV Charger (Cloud) and sign in with your Growatt account

Requires Home Assistant 2025.3 or newer.

Testing / compatibility

I’ve currently tested the integration partially with a THOR 07AS-P-V1.

I’d really appreciate feedback from anyone using another THOR model, especially if you can confirm whether it works or help identify model-specific differences.

The script redacts credentials before producing its output.

Disclaimer

This is an unofficial integration and is not affiliated with Growatt.

It relies on an undocumented Growatt cloud API, so API changes by Growatt may break the integration in the future.
