Hi everyone! I maintain GWM RU, an unofficial Home Assistant integration that brings vehicle status, remote controls and three bundled dashboard cards to Home Assistant.
It uses the Russian GWM cloud and has been tested on a HAVAL H3. Compatibility with other regional GWM clouds is not confirmed. Available features depend on the vehicle and the data returned by the cloud.
What it does
- Engine status, remote start with a selected runtime, and stop.
- Locks, doors, boot, windows and sunroof status, with supported remote commands.
- Climate control and supported seat, steering wheel and glass heaters.
- Fuel level, remaining range, odometer, tyre pressures, temperatures and TPMS warnings.
- GPS device tracker and locally stored trip history.
- Standard Home Assistant entities and actions for your own dashboards and automations.
Three included dashboard cards
- Vehicle overview — status, fuel, tyres, controls and saved preparation profiles. A preparation profile can start the engine, set the climate and enable seat heating in sequence.
- Animated remote — visual vehicle status and quick controls.
- Trips — a map of recorded routes, distance, parking stops and GPS gaps for a selected period.
All three have visual editors. In standard Lovelace storage mode, the JavaScript resource is registered automatically: after installing and restarting HA, the cards are available in Edit dashboard → Add card. No separate card installation is needed.
Installation
Repository and documentation: GitHub - roblencheg/HAVAL_H3: Неофициальная интеграция Home Assistant для российского облака GWM / HAVAL / TANK / ORA / WEY с поддержкой удалённого управления · GitHub
- Add the repository in HACS → Custom repositories, category Integration, and install GWM RU.
- Restart Home Assistant.
- Go to Settings → Devices & services → Add integration → GWM RU and sign in with your GWM account.
- To send commands, enable remote control in the integration options and provide the PIN used in the GWM app.
A separate GWM account with shared access to the vehicle is recommended, because using the same account in HA and the mobile app may cause session conflicts.
Limitations and feedback
This is cloud-based, not local vehicle control. Updates and commands depend on GWM service availability; recorded routes depend on the GPS samples received. Fuel percentage is available only when the cloud supplies the tank capacity needed to calculate it.
The project is not affiliated with GWM or its brands. The main integration is MIT-licensed; the StarLine-derived animated remote and associated visuals have separate GPL-3.0-only licensing, documented in the repository.
I would welcome feedback from owners using the Russian GWM cloud, especially compatibility reports for other models. Please include your vehicle model/year, integration version and which functions work. For bugs, open a GitHub issue and review diagnostics for personal data before sharing them.
Happy to discuss dashboard improvements and useful vehicle automations here!
