HA broken after signing up to HA Cloud

New to home assistant and I thought I doing reasonably well on my journey until I signed up to Home Assistant cloud.
Current Situation:
Getting the message “Connection lost. Reconnecting”
Re-start resulted in the same situation.
Checked that the TCPIP address didn’t change,
Tried using ssh 192.168.1.81 from my MAC terminal but got port:22 connection refused

I’ve managed to access the config folder on the HA from my MAC. I have backups but would appreciate pointers to information as to how the backup can be restored given I do not seem to have access to the OS.

Managed to obtain the backups, reinstalled HA base and restarted with a clean system which offered to use a backup.
Now all back online and HA Cloud is working just fine.
