I finally decided to start using Matter devices so I bought a HA connect ZBT-2 for my HA Green. It should be plug and play but I’ve got it 2 days now but home assistant doesn’t recognize it. I did about everything I could think of/find online: use an usb extension cod, unplug for 10 seconds, reset button, restart home assistant, power down home assistant green for 10 seconds and restart everything, switch USB port, start home assistant in safe mode, flash firmware version 7.4.4.5 etcetera. I’m desperate, what else can I do to finally be able to start using my Matter devices with home assistant??

Is it plugged into an externally powered USB Hub?
No, directly in the HA Green, I’ve read using a dongle is not advised.
Well I didn’t see that coming. I found a USB-A to USB-C purple cable and used it in stead of the cable that came in the box with the ZBT-2 and to my surprise the ZBT-2 showed up in home assistant just as to be expected.
How is it possible that the provided cable is the problem!?? Anyway I can start adding devices and automations for them.
