HA Core Crashes on Startup - AwesomeVersionCompareException

I made some very small/trivial edits to my config, and after a restart HA Core never started.

I did a check config via UI and everything checked out.

I’m running Home Assistant OS on VirtualBox and can get to ha cli. ha core check completes without any errors.

ha core restart results in errors and ha core logs gives:

ha supervisor logs doesn’t have much, just says it crashed:

Running latest versions, 2011.11.4

Your /config/.HA_VERSION file is not correct (probably blank or contains invalid information)

Thank you so much, been banging my head against the wall until 2am last night on this one. Somehow I entered a character in that file, must have accidentally done it through the vs code add-on as I was editing other config files. I turned off auto-save in vs code settings to hopefully prevent in the future.
