Hi everyone,
I’d like to introduce HA DeskLink, a free, open-source desktop companion for Home Assistant (GPL-3.0). It connects your computer and HA in both directions:
Home Assistant → Desktop
- Live sensor values (temperatures, energy, lock states, motion…) directly in the taskbar / system tray
- Desktop widgets (Windows & Linux) for sensors and entity controls
- Toggle lights, switches and scenes from the tray menu
- Native desktop notifications when automations fire
- Optional embedded dashboard view — no browser needed
Desktop → Home Assistant
- PC status pushed into HA as sensor entities: CPU load, memory, disk space, uptime — so your automations can react to your computers
New in v5.0.5: native Music Assistant player integration, desktop widgets, and Sendspin streaming support.
Everything runs locally on your own network — no cloud, no subscription. Platforms: Windows (installer), Linux (tar.gz with systemd service + autostart), macOS (experimental).
