I am a first time user of HA, I received my HA Green today and couldn’t wait to get started.
I have Google mesh Wi-Fi throughout my property, the main Google router is connected to my incoming fibre network via ethernet, an ethernet switch is then connected to the Google router which feeds all my wired devices, Wi-Fi devices are obviously connected wirelessly.
I’ve connected the HA Green to my switch but I am unable to connect to it using a browser on my laptop, which is connected to the Google Wi-Fi. If I connect the laptop to the incoming fibre network Wi-Fi the HA Green appears.
Is this going to pose a problem when it comes to connecting to devices on my Google network, I seem to be struggling.
Others are more technical than I am, but the HA has its url on your wifi network, ending in .8123 . It should be something like xxx.xx.xx.8123.
If you have a Nabu account, then it has also another url that you can reach from outside your network.
Try to enter your list of connected devices to your Google Wifi network and look for one ending in .8123
Hi, thanks for the reply.
The problem I have is that the HA Green is connected to my incoming fibre network (even though it is plugged in to the Google router), while everything else is connected to the Google mesh Wi-Fi. Apart from my Phillips Hue bridge, the Green hasn’t found any other devices, such as my Google hubs, Tapo smart plugs etc.
I will let more technical people respond better, but I have a Google Wifi network. I connected a multiport ethernet box to one of the Google Wifi pods and I connected my Yellow Box to the multiport box.
Yes, the workaround would be to connect everything to the google wifi. The order is ISP (your fiber) → Google router → Switch → HA Green. Nothing but the Google router should be connected to the ISP box. You should also disable the ISP wifi.
That is exactly how I have it setup at the mo, but my laptop will only connect to the Green when it is on the fiber network, it doesn’t see it when connected to the Google WiFi.
