I have installed HA with the intent to use it along with Frigate and MQTT to monitor and store camera feeds. After 3 days of fighting with different versions of AI I finally got things working together. I am currently using an OUMAX mini pc to house HAOS and run the entire system.
Now that it is running, I would like to add an external hard drive for the storage of media files for the longer term. I have tried all I know but cannot get HA to recognize the external drive.
This includes adding Samba NAS and Samba Share. I formatted and partitioned the drive as directed by Copilot.
I'm lost. anyone has ideas I would like to hear them. Be kind, I certainly do not know what I'm doing.

Welcome to the Home Assistant Forum.
Just plain mounting another drive will not work as you expect with HAOS.
All the AI chabots are working on instructions that it was trained with months or more ago. It makes pseudo-random probability based guesses based on old info.
If you want to do something, look at the the HA docs. They follow the current software release.
Another hint, for regular talk, just type. If you are copying a formatted response from your AI chatbot, remove the formatting. That question is a bit of a chore to read for us.
