Hi guys,
I wanted to recycle one of my old Kobo/Kindle e-readers as a dashboard, like many of you, but I ran into an issue: most of the dashboards available on GitHub don’t quite do what I was looking for.
There are some nice dashboards based on ESPHome and others, but:
- Most of them are not interactive because they don’t have a touchscreen
- They don’t use e-readers directly and require additional hardware.
There are also interesting projects on GitHub that create dedicated dashboard compatible with EBook (For old browsers), but they are either not interactive, require deep configuration, or are limited to what the author implemented.
What I was really expecting was something I could start in one minute with a simple docker run, that works out of the box, requires no configuration, and gives access to 100% of Home Assistant components.
So I decided to start a small project myself and share it here, just in case some of you are in the same situation and, like me, didn’t find what you were looking for among the other great projects out there.
Here is the result:
Repo: GitHub - o0Zz/ha-ipaper: Home Assitant interactive e-paper dashboard (For Kobo, Kindle, ...)
Happy to discuss further!
