Help please.
Ha running on pi3 b+ all up to date and running for over 3years been having some issues for last few months though.
Mqtt, zigbee devices dropping out. Ha not accessible at times. Have thought It maybe router issue but finding a thread about corrupt sd cards I thought I’d replace mine as I’m still running on the same 32gib standard card that I found in a draw. Now that is all swapped over I’ve found I can access HA from 2 ip adresses the 1 I have reserved in router and a now new one.
Don’t know how long this has been happening
This would explain my problems I think but don’t know why or how to resolve it.
Any help would be great thank you
Mine is accessible from 3, but that has not caused my any issues so far.
192.168.0.2, 192.168.0.3, 192.168.0.198
My server has 2 network cards and 1 of them has 2 ip addresses, and the docker instance for HA is set to connect on 0.0.0.0 so all available ip addresses have their ports opened.
Once again this should not cause any issues, but if your pi does not actually have multiple addresses then something else is going on
hi Richie
thanks for to info, still a bit confused how its possible to be accessible from 2 ip addresses. hassio on pi3b+
but the reason the router stopped assigning it to the fix ip it had was because i did a new install on a new sd card to rule out that as another issue i was having and that apparently changes the mac address of the PI 3b+. but all working nicely again now.
It is simply an issue of how Linux does routing. An adapter, physical or virtual, can be configured with multiple ip addresses, and a machine can have multiple adapters.
When it comes to the application running, it can be configured to bind to a single adapter, or a single ip address, or to all ip addresses, or to localhost only.
