HA keeps confusing 2 WLED MACs

I have no idea why but these two WLED instances keep failing in HA and they seem to swap MAC address’ or something is happening in HA to get them confused.

I have around 5 different WLED installs and all the others work fine, just these two seem to keep swapping MACs.

Unplug one
What happens?

Is is swapping IP/MAC at router?
Whats happening in HA?

No change?
Unplug one and test other. Check result.

As Above, please describe what you are doing/have done

  1. You hide(for some reasons) the names, which could help people to understand more
  2. In Your Router You could give these devices a “manual Setting IP” in Your DHCP Manager, bind to MAC/HOST-Name

For IP-Device Your Router is actually the First and Only “Manager” for IP Devices, so get use to Check Your Router, when you add an IP device to your Network, and there rename it First !, before adding to HA

Personally i want all my IOT Devices which are permanent in HA, bound to it’s MAC/NAME in the Router’s DHCP-Scope ( Before i add it to HA )

Yes, add Static IP addresses.

How are you addressing your WLEDs in code? By name, MAC address, IP Address?

Show some code.

As far as I know I haven’t done anything, I just started to notice the problem because one of the lights started to not work with an automation.

They were set with a static IP when it first happened, so I have changed them to dynamic and the same issue happens.

The blanked bits are peoples names for a given room so hidden for privacy reasons.

I’ll check what is happening with the router and assign them static IP address’ from there and see if it fixes anything.

These were both added to HA via the WLED auto discovery.
