HA NeoPool MQTT: integration of Tasmota NeoPool (for Sugar Valley, Hayward/Aquarite, Bayrol devices)

Hi everyone,

After a long run as a YAML package, HA-NeoPool-MQTT has been replaced by a
proper Home Assistant custom integration
: Sugar Valley NeoPool.

Why move

The integration does everything the package did and much more, with a far
better experience:

  • UI setup via config flow + HACS — no more editing configuration.yaml
    or pasting package YAML.
  • A real device in Home Assistant (manufacturer, firmware, config URL),
    not just loose entities.
  • Dynamic entity management — module/relay entities auto-enable/disable
    based on what your controller actually reports.
  • Connection health monitoring, recovery scripts, device triggers,
    repair notifications, diagnostics, and translations in 10 languages.
  • Ready-to-use Lovelace dashboards equivalent to the ones here.

Migrating is painless

The integration includes a migration wizard that preserves your existing
neopool_mqtt_* entity IDs and all their history — your dashboards,
graphs, and automations keep working. Full step-by-step instructions are in
the new topic and the GitHub README.

:warning: One rule: remove the YAML package and restart Home Assistant before
adding the integration
, otherwise you'll get duplicate entities.

Status of this project

  • The package GitHub repo is now archived (read-only) and will receive
    no further support or development.
  • All future updates, bug fixes, and help happen in the new integration and
    its topic.
