So, I’ve searched for a solution to this issue for a while and may very well have found solutions, but my feeble newbie brain isn’t understanding the “how”.
I’m building my first dashboard using only the visual editor (don’t know yaml) and have managed to get my Ring cameras to display their snapshots using MQTT. I wanted to include an overlay text on the image with something like “as at 2:30pm” etc and found people recommending the Picture Elements card. So, I’ve got the snapshot appearing with a timestamp overlay but the timestamp is just a number.
This is where I’m stuck. Solutions talk about creating sensor cameras etc but then list code and i don’t know where to put this code using the visual editor, not that i understand the code very well anyway to be able to adjust it to my needs.
Is there a tutorial for beginners that might step me through how to build this solution please?
