HA ZHA Zigbee Group List is now empty (but Zigbee groups still exist as entities)

Hi Everyone - Long time lurker, first time poster.

I am using HA in a container installation, mainly to control my zigbee devices with ZHA (I have 90+ devices, mostly lights and sensors).

When I initially setup ZHA I also added Zigbee Groups, since I found it more reliable to set scenes etc. using Zigbee groups than using HA groups (or areas).

This is working great, but this evening I wanted to replace a couple of older Philips Hue bulbs.

The removal of the old bulbs and discovery of the new ones went fine, but when I wanted to add the newly discovered bulbs to the relevant Zigbee Groups, the ZHA group list was empty:

I can still see the groups in the HA entity list though, just not in the ZHA configuration. This also means that I cannot modify/remove groups.

Since all my scenes and automations that are using Zigbee groups still work, and also the group-entities are still there, I am leaning towards some sort of GU or display issue…I have tried multiple different browsers but it’s the same everywhere (also in the iOS app).

I can even Add a new Zigbee group from the ZHA configuration page. These newly added groups show up as entities, but not in the ZHA config page.

Can anybody help me troubleshoot this further?

Also - You might want to ask when the groups started missing…and to be honest I can’t say. I almost never touch the ZHA groups, so anywhere from almost a year ago up until now is possible…so if it’s a bug, backtracking to earlier releases is going to be painful, and will probably also break stuff I have made with newer features.

So it seems that restarting the hASS container fixed this for me. Zigbee Groups are back.

Of course I should have tried that as the very first thing, but that’s a learning opportunity for next time I guess…

I never figured out what the cause of the issue was, but I hope this thread will help other with the same issue.
