Due to the awesome US power grid, we just had another outage and now after everything is back, i have no access to my home assist…
I can ping the ip, i can open the web interface to the observer, which states that all is buenno, i can ssh to it but cant find working credentials, even addons seem to work, cause i can reach my nginx web interface which is “hosted” in hass via addon…
is there anything i can do, besides hauling a keyboard and monitor to this thing and check locally?
so the observer is working,
but post 8123 is not?
and you lost your ssh credentials?
I would try to unpower for a couple of minutes an then hope for the best
and maybe check for something like this
(only with a US power Plug of course, google doesn’t understand that and just checks my locale info or something.)
especially if you have a lot of outages, because outages can harm your data and hardware.
No i did not lose my ssh creds…they are in my password vault and were used correctly…but it wouldnt take them.
So i followed your advice and tried a couple hard shutdowns and restarts and after the third everything was back up like it never happened…
I really need a whole house battery…these power outages are just to often…at least 1 a month…
Thx a lot…was afraid i have to reinstall this puppy
please make sure you have a backup of HA for easy restore.
one outage a month is really a lot, but batteries can be expensive, especially the once who need to be able to work off grid, because most don’t. so be aware to select the correct one.
