Half Moon "Elongated Semicircle" Motorized Window Shade

Hi there, I've been working for a week on a system to integrate into homeassistant so I could put a otorized window shade on an arch window I have in my living room. However, after re-measuring I realized it's not a perfect semicircle, but rather an elongated semicircle (flat edge is taller).

The original system I had wouldn't work, as it would only open a shade 180° and leave a crescent on the top.

I've seen a few examples online from a white label product on aliexpress that I'm trying to DIY, but I can't quite decipher how they're operating it. It appears to be a cellular shade held in the bottom that's lifted up by a string and pulley system. Inside the base is a motor turning horizontally, but where I'm most confused is how the pulley goes from the horizontal motor to a vertical one. Can anybody suggest ideas on how I could achieve this?

The shade in question:

I'm currently thinking a stepper motor or continuous rotation servo in the base that rotates a geared shaft, and then a separate worm gear similar to how venetian blinds work that rotates a wheel with my wrapped up cord.
