HALP! v2.0.0: Faster, Smarter Multi-Zone Location Tracking
I’m excited to release HALP! v2.0.0 (Home Assistant Location & Presence analyzer), a major upgrade focused on making Home Assistant presence detection faster, more reliable, and truly multi-zone aware.
HALP! combines the location evidence already available in Home Assistant, such as GPS, Wi-Fi/router presence, and BLE, and produces a vetted location rather than relying on any single tracker.
With v2.0.0, HALP! can now track presence intelligently across multiple Home Assistant zones, not just Home vs. Away. Even better, it addresses one of the frustrating parts of normal location tracking: leaving a location. HALP! can recognize strong evidence that you’ve actually departed and transition away from the zone significantly faster than waiting for Home Assistant’s normal location transition behavior, while still using multiple sources to avoid sacrificing reliability for speed.
The goal is simple: your automations should know where you actually are, and know it quickly.
