Handling commands for Denon AVR-X2000?

Hello –

I have a denon avr-x2000 which allows for more commands than the current denon component. The full command list is available here:

http://usa.denon.com/us/product/hometheater/receivers/avrx2000

http://usa.denon.com/us/product/hometheater/receivers/avrx2000?docname=AVRX2000_E400_PROTOCOL(10%201%200)_V04%20(2).pdf

I’d like to use some of those commands to have a script be able change the receiver’s video mode (for example, between “movie” and “game”).

What is the recommended way to do something like this?

a) add a subset of commands to the current denon component?
b) create a new denon x2000 (denon protocol E400?) component?
c) write my own custom component with the desired commands?
d) other?

Thank you.

I have an AVR-X4200W so I’m in the exact same boat as you. I have it on my list of things to do to dig into it and figure out what more I can do. Have you made any progress?

I have not made any progress. I got sidetracked playing with zwave lights and energy monitoring. I hope to get back to it eventually.

any updates on this? can i send command like favoritestation1 an stuff? is that possible?
i now use a harmony receiver for it
