When my Proxmox system is making a backup at night from my HAOS in a vm with snapshot it gets unstable and mostly the ZMQTT is doing weird. The SLZB06P7 UTP POE dongle is the coördinator.
Could I try it with the “suspend” mode or will this do any harm to the HAOS?
Or should I need to put MQTT in a seperate vm or lxc?
What hardware are you using?
Ram? CPU?
CPU 4 x Intel(R) Core™ i5-4570 CPU @ 3.20GHz (1 Socket)
16gb RAM
ZFS Raid with 2x 6TB SATA disk
Kernel version Linux 6.8.12-16-pve (2025-10-14T08:58Z)
Bootmode EFI (Secure Boot
Proxmax manager version pve-manager/8.4.14/b502d23c55afcba1
Do you have all virtualization features enabled in the BIOS?
I will check this tonight at home by restarting this PVE, I think it’s enabled though but maybe any other tips? Now I see in th GUI of this PVE machine ram usage of 95% and there are 3 vm’s running, HAOS, Ubuntu and Openmediavault
You can not use the memory usage in Proxmox for anything.
It can’t see what the memory is used for inside the VMs.
The issue you have could be timing related.
Either due to time skews on the VM clock compared to the real clock or it could be time outs on the communication due to a high load on the VM preventing the timely response to devices.
