HAOS Refused connection

Laptop: Thinkpad x240
I flashed a usb and booted fine. No issues connecting to http://homeassistant.loca:8123
Then I flashed the very same img onto the internal SSD. Boots fine (really fast). However http://homeassistant.local:8123 “ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED” I tried from Windows browser and Linux browser, Ping tests show good connections.
Command line on the on the ssd boot works - used it to verify network address.

I’m stumped why the same img on ssd has this issue - ?

Ping uses a different protocol than the connection does.
Your mdns it not working correctly in your router.
I would and do just use the IP address instead of the .local that you can never rely on.
The boot screen on the Home Assistant host will give you the IP address, will probably something like http://192.168.1.10:8123 format.

http://10.0.0.174:8123/ same response
Home Assistant Observer started responded after a supervisor reset. http://10.0.0.174:4357/ connects fine,

The HA install will take a while. If you restart it you will likely have to start over again.
My guess is it’s still installing. Once you start the install, check back in an hour or 2.

:scream: Wow it boots in like 10-15 secs from the ssd. It’s been over two hours but I can’t say how many times I interrupted it!

BTW I don’t recall having waited from the usb boot first time I tried? That said the update tok long but that at usb speed. On the ssd flash it seemed so much faster.

But what you say about installing makes some sense as at first the observer page wouldn’t respond either but does now.

Left it for a couple hrs - no change.

I started looking around and found this:

:frowning: ???

Reload the SSD, start it up, go to bed. Look at it tomorrow. That’s my best suggestion at this point.

Restore the backup after you get it running and see the proper screens so you know it’s working.
