Hi there, have had home assistant running now on an old laptop now for around 6 months at start been okay but last few updates causes big problems latest was 17.3 had al running great and finally finished my home energy dashboard using emergent ai but then sensors weren't being recognized with next core updates so found later version of foxess integration which helped but then came next 18 os release update decided to run it had manual backed up first ,it ran for a long time waited but nothing refreshed then restarted but when restart nothing everything gone. This has happened three time since had it 17.2 -17.3 and core updates it is frustrating as now can't even get it running with new setup even tried virtual box goes right through boot up says okay give the address but still wont load . Had Ubuntu on laptop that even wont boot up now what has happened to latest updates if cant rely on them six months work gone .
The machine you run HAOS on has to be dedicated to only HAOS. No other software.
yes done all that followed all instructions in HO managed to get ubuntu installed then tried to install through this it following guild but came up with error when trying to install latest. Problem mounting boot medium i think sector (0-0) came up.
UEFI boot mode
secure boot disabled
Generic x86 -64 Pc -18
Lenovo laptop 2017 2t hard drive
intel
runs fine just every time run a new update in home assistant core or main OS it crashes it and have to start from scratch loosing any backups done.
Your harddisc sounds like it is dying, or actually already dead with the sector 0 error.
