Here’s a couple of threads:
Well, Ok I’ve been cajoled into it entirely long enough. Here I’m going to document some random thoughts I’ve collected about building an Agentic AI - ‘Friday’ in Home Assistant.
This document is not intended to try to convince anyone my way is the ‘correct’ way. In fact, far from it - Anyone who tells you HOW to AI right now in the nescient stages of the art are dead wrong. Run from them.
Instead, take these chapters (yes there will be chapters, I apologize now) as collective knowledge on ho…
Hello everyone,
edit:
I decided to use this thread to share my journey with improving my LLM based assistant using OpenAI gpt-4o-mini by adding tools.
So I will add LLM tools I create, or link to LLM tools that I start to use in this thread and try to update the start post with links as an table of contents.
I learned a lot from Nathan’s Friday Party thread, but I think more user stories (and a maybe less perfect/large solution as a starter) are always a good thing for others to get into the …
@NathanCu has his own local AI (Friday), but the second thread is applicable to cloud AI.

Would my interactions with the agent become more meaningful and helpful if it understood my setup, without me having to explain specific details over and over? And since (in theory) the process is automated, every time I change my setup, the agent would nigh-immediately understand the changed context.
I think this comes down to the amount of context in the prompt, but the second thread above describes a number of tools you can add - these are essentially scripts that the AI runs to gather information.
