I installed 2 of these. Used the BG App, horrible experience, seems they own-branded the Broadlink App and broke it. I already disabled 5Ghz Wifi for some other smart stuff but absolutely refused to pair the easy way, instructions weren’t great but eventually got them in using AP mode.
What a few of those above who “managed it but didn’t know how” missed is… Normal pairing mode (fast red flashing) happens on power up, but can also be force by holding down the left button for “somewhere between 5 and 10 seconds”…
…and AP mode can be accessed by holding the left button for a further 5-10 seconds if already in normal pairing mode. The red flashing changes to 3 slower flashes, then a few seconds off repeated. Note that after the normal pairing fast flashing mode, after you’ve held the button for ~6 seconds there is a several second wait where both lights are off before the slower AP mode flashing sequence starts.
I was impressed that HA seems to self-apply the Broadlink Integration, I did nothing to make that appear - but the instructions after hitting Add about unlocking were invalid because the BG App doesn’t have the same functionality.
So I completed started again, removed the integration, uninstalled the BG App, installed the Broadlink App and re-paired the switches - which worked first time with both switches without having to go into AP mode. I just held the button down for 10 secs and the app found and configured them immediately. Again HA found them and the Broadlink Integration showed the Add button and this time in the Broadlink App, the unlock button is there at the bottom of the General menu.
£15(900)/£17(800) at Screwfix if you’re in the UK. Well designed and made. Fit into a 25mm wall box if it has fixing tabs at the sides - if it has additional fixings at the bottom and top, these may need to be bent out of the way which is a lot easier than replacing the wall box.
