Hass.IO Newbie Help

Hi guys, I’m very sorry if this has been answered somewhere, but I’ve tried looking at videos etc to try and learn as much as I can but I’m quite new to all of this.

I’ve installed HassIO but noticed that for things like DUCKDNS and Let’s Encrypt, it requires some command line work but I’m not sure how to access the same command line using HassIO, and most of the videos seem to be using Raspbian with Home Assistant installed instead. So my question is:

  1. Does Raspbian + Home Assistant allow for more complicated stuff
  2. Does HassIO not have the same ability to edit things via command? Ie. I was trying to set the crontab for DUCKDNS but when i connect to HassIO via SSH in Putty, I can’t seem to access the same directories / make changes that are lasting.

I really want to progress on this and I just want to clarify this, thanks!

Make sure you are looking at the documentation for the hass.io addons. Most addons don’t require any command line work to function.
