Hassio Home Assistant 0.105.4 - SSL config

Hello Everyone,

New to Home Assistant and I am having an issue trying to get my ssl cert installed because some the videos are kind of outdated on youtube. I think I am on the new Hassio OS on the most current build and I think I have everything setup, forwarded, Let’s Encrypt including duckdns setup and ready to go. First of all “certbot” the way someone on youtube was teaching how to do this but I don’t think the new Hassio OS likes anything I have tried on you tube. I really want to get this access setup before I even start putting all my devices on it. Please help if someone has an idea on how it get the SSL cert downloaded and installed on Hassio.

My setup is in virtual box and watched a youtube video on how to get it setup on a VM. Downloaded the OVA I think.

Component error: base_url - Integration ‘base_url’ not found.
Component error: ssl_certificate - Integration ‘ssl_certificate’ not found.
Component error: ssl_key - Integration ‘ssl_key’ not found.

What does the Let’s Encrypt config file suppose to have in it? Maybe that my issue?

Thanking you in advance!
Ed.

HA has no documentation on youtube.

Videos. Sorry about that…

Yeah don’t follow them, they get outdated very fast. Start here I think https://www.home-assistant.io/docs/configuration/remote/

( I use nabucasa, I recommend it)

You probably have the indentation wrong.

Thank you. I will check it out.

I put a tab (space) in front of all of them and restarted. And now I am having issues reconnecting to HA? Tried my.local address and the dns. I think things took this time so i am happy for that. I have been working on this for a couple of days now scratching my head. Good old formatting errors.

Thanks for the help…

tab is not the same as space.

Yes, I understand that, I just meant that I put a tab in front. Unless that’s not good to do in the configuration.yaml file and only a single space is needed?

Do not use tab in home assistant. Some editors add spaces when you hit the tab button, but most add a tab character ^t. That (ie ^t) will not work. Simply don’t take the risk as to what your editor is doing.

YAML uses spaces not tabs for indentation. The yaml specification does not specify how many are required, but they do need to be consistent. Most HA users, and the documentation, uses two spaces.

TL:DR two spaces, no tabs.

You are correct about the “tab” in some editors. The little things.

By the way, I am good to go now. No more errors. Thank you very much for the assistance.
