HASSIO update to 0.51.1

Got a notice over 6 hours ago in a sensor in frontend
How do we update in HASSIO or do we have to wait for a different
message in the frontend?

Was running hassbian before and just followed the update info in docs
is there a way to do that in HASSIO from the command line?

Same. I believe it is not yet available to Hassio, perhaps takes a while for the guys to add it. When available it should appear in Hassio to update

Ya that’s what I was thinking.
Just spent alot of time switching over to HASSIO from hassbian
assuming HASSIO would get updates first.

That was never going to happen, HA obviously has to exist in its native form first before it can be ‘dockerfied’.

Take it as a blessing that if there are any immediate problems with an update there’s an extra chance to catch them before we get it.

That’s a good point.
The last 2 updates on Hassbian I had to wipe everything and start over
because the Frontend would not load.

I have no problem waiting this is by far the best Home Automation platform
I have worked with.

After watching the video and reading the posts I just assumed HASSIO would be the first to get everything.

Under the
---- Hass.IO Cli ----

Their are options for update does anyone know if this is the same as
what will be in the frontend when a update notifier comes up.
If so any idea best order to run them in.

I would just try it but don’t wnat to bork my setup everything is working great

HomeAssistant:
$ hassio homeassistant logs
$ hassio homeassistant restart
$ hassio homeassistant update

Host:
$ hassio host hardware
$ hassio host reboot
$ hassio host shutdown
$ hassio host update

Supervisor
$ hassio supervisor logs
$ hassio supervisor info
$ hassio supervisor reload
$ hassio supervisor update

I had the same situation, i didnt know how to update hassio. Same sensor appear in the frontend but it was not useful. Finally the update appeared by itself on the Hassio tab. I just Clicked on it and Im on the 0.51 version

The update for 0.51 just showed up in my configuration tab. I updated. Now I am missing my Automations tab. In the configurations tab I am also missing the options to reload core, groups, automations, to stop or restart home assistant, and I am missing the groups group in the configurations tab.

Have any of you encountered this? Should I restore my backup file or is there an easy fix by modifying configuration.yaml?

Anyone updating to 0.51.0 in HASSIO the database has to rebuild in the background.

AFTER YOU CLICK ON THE UPDATE BUTTON IN HASSIO TAB SET A TIMER AND WALK AWAY FOR 30 MIN OR YOU WILL GET ERRORS
AND PROBLEMS.

Just updated from 0.51.0 to 0.51.1 and all is good.
The update process in HASSIO is working great now.

is your SSL working? (letsencrypt) if you use it.

when i update to 551 it wont load and no error log what have shud i do ?

Update to the newer version that was released to fix the docker issues.

Anybody having any issues since the new update? I just updated and now when I click on Configuration from the menu I just get a blank screen. Everything else seems fine.

It’s started working again now. For some reason immediately after the update when I clicked on Configuration it was pointing to /config and not /config/dashboard.

I saw the update in the front end (0.55.1) so updated and now I can’t access HASSIO from front end but it is showing on the network and can be pinged. I have configurator add-on setup on my HASSIO install and I can access this and see my config files and can see the execute shell script option. Are there any commands via shell I can run to force an update and get things working again?

Ok managed to login using SSH and ran updates using above HASSIO commands. running the latest HASSIO version but still not responding when trying to access front end.

Used:

$ hassio homeassistant update
$ hassio homeassistant restart

Running:

$ hassio homeassistant update

again shows:

Error on homeassistant/update: Version 0.55.2 is already in use

Anyone got any ideas as to whats going on? nothing showing in logs of interest.

Ok those commands worked I was too impatient for HASSIO to come back up.

All working now :grinning:

Hello,
I’m already using version 0.55.2 but now I can’t start the docker.

this is the log that I receive when trying to start the docker.

Any idea.
Probably I’ll need to re-install :pensive:

Thanks in advance!

Update to 0.56 solved my issue
