Hassio vs homeassistant in virtual enviroment

Im setting up a new proxmox server and want to make my home assistant installation virtual, running on a rpi, the main reason is speed, the pi was taking way to long to restart, and sometimes some of the automations will lag.

So the question is, i can run the regular homeassistant on a container, or install hassio under a regular vm

Any one has experience with this?? Also when running homeassistant i see all of my cpu cores working, when using hassio only one core… is hassio single core?

There are instruction for running HA in a Docker container here

I don’t see the point in restricting yourself to hass.io if you are knowledgeable enough to do what you are doing.
