HassOS boot from SSD with Odroid N2+

I have some questions about using an Odroid N2+ with HA. Is it possible to make it boot from an SSD and run HASSOS on the SSD? Do I still need an eMMC module? Is there any tutorial on how to do this?

Did you have any luck with this as I’m looking to do the same exact thing with my n2+?

I did some googling and found an eMMC 128GB that I bought a few weeks ago. Not using the SSD for now. But still interested if there is a way to boot from SSD. Good luck!!

I was reading that there is a way to use the SSD for the OS and the SD card just to boot but I’m not sure how I would make the change.

There isn’t a way to “boot” from it but there’s a command to store the data on it and make the emmc/SD read only and the SSD does all the work.

It took me 3 hours as no one has said anything really on here or reddit about doing this on an odroid.

Until I realized what works for the pi may work for the odroid.

Follow the instructions below and don’t do what I did which was freak out and unplug it because it didn’t boot quickly nine took probably 10 or more minutes the first time and I didn’t know until I found this link that it takes that long.

You’ll need to setup a root ssh. There’s instructions for getting into the root on home assistant’s site.

You’ll need putty to generate a authentication code as well.

So… does this work well, and easy to get running, on an odroid N2+ ??

Yes sorry I do not go on here much. This works very well and I am glad I went through the hastle to make it work. If you have a USB 3.0 to SATA adapter then yes it’s easy to make work provided you also have root ssh enabled.
