Not sure I, have it running since the release 1 or 2 , with resinos, I think it was necessary in the old ages 
the oficial vmdk drive is IDE - which is OLD and broken crap.
i dont understand why in 2022 ppl cant create proper VMDK
How did you get to that screen? I am using Oracle VM VirtualBox in Win10. I can’t seem to add a hard drive to my setup.
This is what I see:
Virtualbox is a completly different product, my screenshot was from VMware ESXi. It runs on bare metal.
