I’m happy to join the Home Assistant community!
I’m using Home Assistant as part of a larger smart-home setup, with Philips Hue devices, a Hue Bridge Pro, sensors, lights and smart plugs, together with Apple Home.
I’m particularly interested in finding practical solutions to the little interoperability issues that can appear between different ecosystems. When there isn’t a straightforward solution, I tend to experiment and build workarounds — and I’m happy to share them if they can be useful to others.
I’m currently working on an interesting workaround related to Philips Hue Smart Plugs being exposed as lights rather than switches, especially when the plugs are used to control devices such as heaters or fans.
I’ll share the details in a separate post once I’ve documented the setup properly.
Looking forward to learning from the community and hopefully contributing some useful ideas as well.
