Help automating outdoor pergola shade (outdoor rope motor + weather sensors)

Hi all,

I’m looking for advice on automating my outdoor pergola shade. It’s currently a manual setup with a rope that slides the fabric back and forth. What I’d like to do:
• Add a motorized solution that can pull/release the rope reliably.
• Make it weather-aware (close with strong sun, retract with wind/rain).
• Ideally Zigbee-compatible, but I’m open to Wi-Fi if that’s more practical.

Already have a leftover Aqara shade motor but it has too little friction for this function.

I know, as shown in the picture, I have one of these. Point is:

  1. they only work on chains not on rope
  2. they are not IP44 or more
