Hi, I’m trying to add SSL to my LAN to access my HAOS instance. I am following this video which seems to satisfy my needs.
However it is 3 years old and the UI’s are quite different in places and it glosses over the creation of the HA proxy.
I have set up a domain in DuckDNS, created certificates in Nginx for mydomain.duckdns.org and *.mydomain.duckdns.org. I then setup a host to open my proxmox instance of Nginx Proxy Manager from mydomain.duckdns.org which is working fine.
But when I try to add another host on say ha.mydomain.duckdns.org it fails to connect with error 502 Bad Gateway.
I’m confused as to what settings I need to make in HA Settings>System>Network and exactly what I need in the Nginx Proxy host under Domain Names, Scheme, Forward Hostname/IP and Port number. Also do I need any of the options such as Websockets Support enabled and Forced SSL and HTTP/2 support in the SSL section.
All the guides I can find inline involve installing Nginx and Duck DNS in HA. but I would rather keep them in separate VM’s in proxmox if I can.
Sorry it’s a bit long winded but if anyone can point me to a simple guide or talk me through it would be greatly appreciated.
Cracked it myself. I hadn’t added the address of my Nginx instance into Settings>System>Network>Reverse Proxy as a trusted proxy.
