I am extremely new to HA. Its been working fine for a few days, but I just logged in and it wouldn’t let me go on any screen - just says “failed to load”. I.e when trying to load the log page it says “Error while loading page logs”.
When I try restarting, it won’t even let me do that, it says:
“The system cannot restart because the configuration is not valid: File configuration.yaml not found”.
When I took the power out and put it back in, it rebooted and everything was fine. It’s still working fine now. I just want to try figure out what it was so I can try stop it happening next time.
I read another suggestion somewhere that maybe it was the SSD disconnecting from the raspberry pi 4 - is there a way to see if this actually was the case?
The log of the previous run have been renamed with a .1 in the end.
You should be able to see it in the same place as the configuration.yaml and it is just a text file (al though sometimes a big one), so you should be able to open it with the same editor you use for the configuration.yaml.
Been happening to me every 3-4 days for no reason at all. I can’t even ssh to the home assistant device (Raspberry pi4). Only power off/on brings the system back.
I’m ordering a new SSD card from a different vendor (Teamgroup) to see if that helps although I doubt it.
The Pi4 is in an Argon case ( Argon ONE M.2 Aluminum Case for Raspberry Pi 4 with SATA SSD Support | Power Button and Fan | Compatible B-Key and B+M Key) and maybe its getting a little hot. But I have 2 more of these systems and the other two don’t have this problem.
Same issue. Argon NEO 5 M.2 NVME Case for Raspberry Pi 5
Every day or so.
Updated pi EEPROM and firmware hoping it was this.
This was reliable up to v15.1 the started to go wrong.
I have the same hardware running Pi OS and PiMox. It’s been stable to some time now.
I’m suspecting the SSD compatibility with HAOS since running HA on PiMox is stable.
Both have a lot of authentication errors since core 2025.5.x
“I also suspect that the hard drive might not be compatible. Mine is this one: fanxiang S500 Pro SSD 512GB NVMe 1.4 M.2 PCIe Gen3x4 2280 Internal SSD, SLC Cache, 3D NAND TLC, up to 3500MB/s, mounted in an Argon One V3.” raspberry pi 5 8 gb https://www.amazon.it/dp/B0B55R7PYB?ref_=ppx_hzod_title_dt_b_fed_asin_title_0_1&th=1
Here’s the English translation:
“I also updated the EEPROM, but first the Supervisor gets disabled and then the system freezes.”
