Hi everyone,
I am new to Home Assistant, and I finally made the jump to purchase it. I bought a Home Assistant Green Hub. However, I am unable to connect to my Home Assistant in order to start setting it up. For each step, I confirmed that all devices were on the same WiFi network before trying. When I connect the hub to my router, everything looks ok at first: once power is connected, I see a yellow light blinking in a heartbeat pattern after a few minutes.
Here’s what I’ve done so far:
-
Downloaded the Home Assistant app and tried to connect to the hub, but the hub was undetectable
-
I tried to connect locally using http://homeassistant.local:8123 typed into my browser, but I get the following error “This site can’t be reached
Check if there is a typo in homeassistant.local. DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN”
-
I triend to connect locally using the IP address but the same error message from #2 would appear. I confirmed I was using the correct IP address and still having this issue
-
I tried all these with Home Assistant hub connected to my Nighthawk Wifi router and tried it with the hub connected to my modem
-
I tried setting things up using the browser on my iPhone and again on my macbook
-
I tried setting things up with all devices connected to the 2.4G wifi, again with the 5G wifi, and again with the modem’s wifi.
I’m pretty stuck and I even hired a professional (who wasn’t familiar with home assistant) and they weren’t sure either. Does anyone have any thoughts on how to approach this?
Thank you again in advance
